Friday, April 12 2013: you’ll be woken up by the warm sunshine. Enjoy your lavish breakfast on the terrace of your luxury hotel with a view of the Atlantic. Ahead of you are three days of amazing motorsport experiences with full VIP status: you’ll be able to take a look behind the scenes, meet the drivers, the rally team and experience the World Rally Championship up close and personal, with Volkswagen VIP Rally Weekend in Portugal.
To mark Volkswagen’s entry into the World Rally Championships (WRC), which is arguably the most exciting form of motorsport in the world, the new entertainment format “Rally the World” has also been launched. The aim is simple: bring the rally back to the people! But that’s only the start of an exciting year for the World Rally Championships. The more the public interact on the platform and in social networks, the better “Rally the World” will become.
At the start of the season in Monte Carlo, this bold enterprise will launch in the form of the branded entertainment format. A mockumentary, i.e. a mix of reality and fiction, where a rather wacky pair of presenters go on an adventurous mission. They will be traveling from race to race in an old, tricked out Volkswagen Bully, which will be equipped with a show-stopping attraction: a pull-out sofa in the load space that they can use as a commentator’s box.
But that’s only the start of an exciting year for the World Rally Championships. The more the public interact on the platform and in social networks, the better “Rally the World” will become.Every action will be rewarded with exciting content.
