India’s largest auto company is all set to enthral the India audience with the Tata Safari Storme launch on October 17, 2012. Reportedly the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) has been inspired from the designing language of Range Rover and the same is reflected from its headlamps and body shape. As per company reports, the new generation model will not take over the legacy of existing model and thus, both will be sold alongside.

Considering its technical part, the model will be assimilated with a 2.2 litre DiCOR engine, which will churn out a peak power of 140 bhp with a maximum torque of 320 Nm. Tata Safari Storme reviews state that the model will be mated to a five speed manual transmission system, which is expected to feature smooth shifting of gears. Based on the manufacturing platform of Tata Aria crossover, the model will surely step ahead by miles from its rivals, in the terms of performance.

Along with a powerful engine, the new model will also boasts of several safety features, which will ensure a complete safety of its occupants. Features like Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Break-force Distribution (EBD), dual SRS airbags and newly designed rack-pinion steering wheel are expected to be packed within the model. Side intrusion beams, crumple zones, disc brakes, seat belts in all the rows and fog lamps are also anticipated in the new Safari Storme.

Tata Motors will pitch the upcoming model against Mahindra XUV500, which has currently dominated the premium SUV segment. Besides, the 2012 Tata Safari Storme features an Electronic Shift-On-The-Fly (ESOF) mode, which will enable the model to easily shift from two wheel drive mode to all wheel drive mode. New generation Safari Storme has been specially designed with the off-roading credentials, which is expected to grab the attention of a large number of buyers.

Interestingly, the auto maker has already started accepting the bookings of the yet-to-be launched model without officially declaring Tata Safari Storme price in the market. On this, industry experts said that the company is well versed with the mentality of price conscious Indian buyers and thus, the model will be a good deal from the auto maker’s end.

Launch of a new model around festive season will surely help the company to cash on the sentiments of Indian buyers as the auto industry witnesses a real boom during this period.
